Genshin Impact: The first glance at a free to play game

Genshin Impact is an anime-style RPG, free to play and with a cooperative multiplayer for PC, Android, iOS, and PS4 that has just been released and has already set more than 12 million records.

Genshin Impact has enough personality to stand out even among many similar games, while also offering a creative combat system and an expansive world to explore. This is a cross-platform game, available for PC, PS4, Android and iOS, released on Monday, September 28, 2020. It feels like a crossing between Nintendo The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the Mana series.

In 2019 Genshin Impact made an impact, (get it?) on the world of video games with a revelation of an open-world action RPG, heavily inspired by Nintendo The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This does not mean that it is a cheap one. Genshin Impact offers a big number of unique game systems and charming stories that set it apart from games like Zelda and other open-world RPGs. There are a few twists here and there, but Genshin Impact exudes an amazing amount of shine that makes it easy to pick up and play. Now released for free in September 2020, Genshin Impact is a PC game that you should definitely try if you like the genre.

Graphics and Gameplay

There is no denying the visual similarities between Genshin Impact and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Both games offer open-world environments to explore, filled with treasures to find, walls to climb, and whimsical monsters to fight. Genshin Impact’s bow and arrow look very similar to Nintendo’s at first glance, and the cel-shaded anime’s colorful graphic style is very reminiscent of Zelda’s. That said, Genshin Impact’s team system immediately sets it apart from Zelda and other open-world RPGs. You actively recruit new playable characters into your party as you progress through the story, and each of them has unique attacking styles and abilities. There is some overlap to be sure: heroes wielding swords, for example, have unique attack animations, but they all have the same combat inputs and are functionally similar.

We are currently still exploring the game Genshin Impact and will come with a detailed review soon.
